Better day today with some sun and less rain. They’re wild camping in a wood near Cumnock having camouflaged the bikes. They also saw buzzards, red squirrels and deer en route. 70 miles today, bringing the total up to 679.7 miles.
Rainy again today with showers and some torrential downpours and storms. They’ve crossed into Scotland and are at a camp site in Annan near Gretna Green. At least they managed to get a three course meal last night! They cycled 61 miles today; that’s 609.7 miles so far.
Another bad day. Quoting directly from a text message we received: “Torrential rain. Reached Grasmere. Soaked to skin. No camp. Yha wanted 50 quid. Yha letting us dry clothes and wild camp in woods. Tent saturated. Floods.” They covered 54 miles today. Let’s hope the weather improves for them soon. 548.7 miles so far.
They’ve gone through Liverpool, Warrington and Preston today in torrential rain. They’re wild camping at Garstang tonight, with their tent and gear soaked through. They covered 77.6 miles today, that’s 494.7 miles so far. Nearly half way!

Carol and Richard got off to a late start, with high winds and rain approaching. There were strong head winds all day. They reached Bridges Youth Hostel in the Long Mynd at around 9 pm having covered about 62 miles, finishing in torrential rain. They have traveled 359.1 miles so far.
